Indian Navy Agniveer Apprentice Vacancy 2026

Agniveer (Apprentice) – Engineering

Number of Posts: Various

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • Passed Matriculation (10th) with at least 50% marks.
  • Completed a 3-year AICTE-approved Diploma with at least 50% marks in relevant Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Production, Automobile, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Power Plant Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Electronics Instrumentation & Control, and other related branches.

Age Limit

  • 01/2027 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 December 2004 and 31 May 2009.
  • 02/2027 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive the following monthly package under the Agniveer scheme.

  • First Year – ₹30,000 per month
  • Second Year – ₹33,000 per month
  • Third Year – ₹36,500 per month
  • Fourth Year – ₹40,000 per month

After completing four years of service, candidates will receive the Seva Nidhi package as per government rules.


Agniveer (Apprentice) – Electrical

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

  • Passed Class 10 with at least 50% marks.
  • Completed a 3-year AICTE-approved Diploma with a minimum of 50% marks in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation Technology, Electrical & Electronics, or related disciplines.

Age Limit

  • 01/2027 Batch: Born between 01 December 2004 and 31 May 2009.
  • 02/2027 Batch: Born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009.

Salary

The salary and benefits are the same as the Engineering trade under the Agniveer scheme.


Indian Navy Agniveer Apprentice Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of several stages.

Stage 1 – INET 2/2026 Examination

Candidates must appear for the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), which is an online computer-based examination.

  • 100 Multiple Choice Questions
  • 1 Mark for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking of 0.25 marks
  • Duration: 1 Hour
  • Questions available in Hindi and English
  • Separate papers for Engineering and Electrical streams

Stage 2 – Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Candidates shortlisted from the INET exam must qualify the Physical Fitness Test.

Physical standards include:

  • 1.6 km Run in 6 minutes 30 seconds
  • 20 Squats
  • 15 Push-ups
  • 15 Bent Knee Sit-ups

Stage 3 – Written Examination

Candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test will appear for another written examination based on their trade.


Stage 4 – Medical Examination

Candidates must pass the medical examination conducted by the Indian Navy. Those declared medically unfit can appeal within the prescribed period.


Final Merit List

The final selection will be based on performance in the Stage II Written Examination, Physical Fitness Test, Medical Fitness, and document verification.

Note: Candidates sponsored by approved authorities and verified NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders are exempted from the Stage I INET examination.
