Vacancy Distribution
The 144 apprentice vacancies are distributed across states and Union Territories in the Eastern Region, including West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications vary by apprentice category:
Technician Apprentice: Diploma (three years) in relevant engineering discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
Trade Apprentice: Matriculation plus ITI (two years) in the relevant trade recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
Graduate Apprentice: Full-time graduation (BA/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
Data Entry Operator: Class 12th pass with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
Qualifications must be acquired as per prescribed dates in the notification, and only full-time regular courses are eligible. Part-time, correspondence, or distance education qualifications are not accepted.
Candidates holding higher professional qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech., MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB, or degrees beyond the prescribed apprenticeship qualifications are not eligible.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age (as of 28 February 2026): 24 years
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: +5 years (up to 29 years)
OBC-NCL: +3 years (up to 27 years)
PwBD: +10 years (up to 34 years)
PwBD within SC/ST and OBC-NCL categories have additional relaxations as per rules.
Stipend
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act and Rules in force.
Selection Process
Selection will be done based on a merit list prepared from the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification. There is no written examination or interview. In the event of equal marks, preference is given first to the older candidate and then based on higher matriculation marks if necessary. Selected candidates will be required to complete document verification followed by a pre-engagement medical fitness test before issuance of engagement offers.
